New projects for Android?

Any ideas on when any new projects will come available for Android devices?

Re: New projects for Android?

HST will certainly not, it's too large & heavy for an Android!

but OET is postponed till end of 2017! So plenty of more to crunch...

Re: New projects for Android?

I’ve run BOINC/WCG on a 7" RCA Voyager 2 tablet ( $45 at Wal
Mart ) for 6 months now. It’s a quad core processor and crunches
pretty good. I let it run 24/7 as the power draw is so small.

It's pretty much ran ebola stuff so far and i find that it helps to turn it off and back on like once a week. I figure it's the house cleaning of shutting down that gets rid of junk.

But so far it and another like it are happily crunching along..

if it's only standing around, then maybe you should also put it to check sensors & add this project: http://qcn.caltech.edu/sensor/

it doesn't use no computational power!
cool

Re: New projects for Android?

I would, but I live in apartments that are close to a highway.

They'd get a lot more garbage than useful information..

Re: New projects for Android?

I have 10 Android cores that will go unused when OET ends in June. I hope that another project steps up and compiles an Android version of the client by then.

Cheers coffee

It's evident you missed the uplinger' post and the ensuing discussion... 'into 2017'.

Yes I did. If that is true, I will take advantage of that extra time and try for 10 years on OET as soon as I get 10 years on MCM. However, eventually there will be no work for those Android devices and they will be very sad. sad

Cheers coffee

Re: New projects for Android?

There is a new project in Beta test phase starting yesterday, MDDS. There are Android jobs being tested for it. So there is life after OET. wink
