Hello, i am new to this awesome project and i have a question. What happens when i turn off my computer and then start it the next day. Does all of the calculations start from the very beginning or they are saved and simply continue from where they were left?

Welcome. Very sensible question!
The workunit processing includes a feature called checkpointing. This saves the processing state to disk at intervals. Completely turning off the computer will then allow the calculations to restart from the previously saved checkpoint. Alternatively, if you can just hibernate the computer, all progress gets saved. There's lots of info on checkpointing in the FAQ "Project Checkpoint Saving - How to Minimize Progress Loss on Close/Restart" - probably more than you want at this stage! |
