Badges for Mapping Cancer Markers

Good day to you! I have been waiting and watching trying to work my way to getting a Diamond Badge for Mapping Cancer Markers but it still hasn't happened. Does anyone know how many points need to be generated for this to happen? My current stats for Mapping Cancer Markers are Points Generated 5,711,891 Results Returned 6,925 Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) 4:132:04:08:44

Thanks!

Re: Badges for Mapping Cancer Markers

The badges are granted for time, so when your time reaches 5 years of MCM work you will get a 5 year Diamond badge.
Cheers

Re: Badges for Mapping Cancer Markers

Any new Diamond badges past 20 years? (I'm coming up on 40 years and the badge still says 20 instead of 30)

At the top right of this browser page there is [ FORUMS - HELP - SETTINGS ].

"HELP" should be able to get you to just about any general information you need.

Thanks, I thought Diamond was awarded for every 10 years. blushing

Re: Badges for Mapping Cancer Markers

With today's faster, multicore CPUs, there have been many suggestions for badges beyond 100 years. I think badges in 100 year increments would be appropriate.

Re: Badges for Mapping Cancer Markers

I don't know how much retrofitting would be necessary to make new badges, but I like the idea. I imagine producing the art for the new badges isn't the main roadblock, because it's just changing the numbers. Maybe there's some other reason. But if they do decide to redo it someday, I kinda like the idea of adding 250, 500, 750, and 1k.

I kind of wish there was some indicator for # of results. But that's probably asking for too much biggrin

Re: Badges for Mapping Cancer Markers

I would suggest that at 500 years, they should either change the shape or background (platinum) to signify an enhanced contribution. These suggestions have never gained much traction over the years due to the staff being overloaded on other things. I would also suggest that the badge creation could be outsourced to either an eager member or intern that would contribute it back to WCG. I would think there wouldn't be many security concerns with badges. Then all WCG has to do is change the code to enable the new badges which could be done at the next project launch when they are changing the code anyway.
