Getting Android to connect to the WCG and my account here.

Version 7.4.53 wasn't working properly on my Android Smartphone, so I followed a suggestion at the main BOINC forum and downgraded to 7.4.43. The only way I could do this was by uninstalling the current version first, which nuked all of my settings. Alas, the new installation didn't have either the World Community Grid or Einstein@home as options (These are the two projects that I'm involved with.) and no way to send it to a url to connect to a different project. I tried upgrading back to the newer version, but that just gave me two different random projects that I don't want. Does anybody here know how to get the WCG working on my phone, as it was before? I've also asked at the BOINC forum, in the thread where I learned that my issue was a well-known bug, but it occurred to me to check here as well. Any help here will be appreciated, and copied over to the other forum, and anything I get from there will be posted here, so that both groups can benefit from it.

Re: Getting Android to connect to the WCG and my account here.

Open the menu, select projects, then right top tap the 3 dots, and hit 'add project by url'

That doesn't work when you're trying to set things up, because you can't get to that menu unless you've selected one of the random projects. However, once you've done that, you can add projects by url and remove the dummy project.

So it seems by adding the random project, you can add www.worldcommunitygrid.org via the url path. Did you succeed?
