Team Easynews has been around for ages crunching for the good. Thanks to all team members still crunching for a research goal. Let's communicate and socialize here! It's been a while - What's Up?

It ought to be one of you Easynews members who posted as the first one in this team thread, which TKizzle, your captain of team Easynews, made for communication and socializing between the all time 8,316
![]() Now it's she who cannot keep her mouth shut welcoming your initiative, TKizzle ![]() I hope your team members will come forward and start posting so we can get to know you - all 8,316 of you! ![]() - the more communication and the more venues for it the better, I think ![]() 'Easynews' seems to be an Internet Service Provider. Is that correct, TKizzle? ![]() |

little mermaid ... pretty amazing huh? Actually, there's less than 200 currently active. The previous Team captain was inactive, so WCG offered the job to me. The pay was right, and I have the qualifications :-) To answer your previous question, Easynews is actually a site that offers access to Usenet (if you remember what that is from the early internet days). I haven't had any interaction with my team, so I sent out some team emails and decided to start this thread. Hopefully, there will be more convo here other than you an I.

An active membership of 200 is of course somewhat less than an 8,316 all time membership, and that is not an unusual development, I think. But with a new qualified captain, I’m sure these 200 will keep their noses to the grindstone – and indeed begin posting. An active captain who tries to activate the members means a lot. Take saphir12 and stefada from our new, young French team Kraland. They have worked hard to blow new life into a neglected and sleepy team with a lot of success.
Yes, I remember Usenet well, TKizzle, and used it quite a bit nationally as well as worldwide. It was the beginning of a new wide wonderful world for me to which I'm somewhat addicted ![]() Sure, you’ll get business here. I think you may be a little up against people being occupied with the holidays, but come January ![]() |

I was wondering if you ever posted as "little mermaid" on Usenet, little mermaid, so I googled and coincidentally found this site: http://www.littlemermaid.jp/
![]() ![]() and they also celebrate リトルマーメイドの日 (Little Mermaid Day) on the 15th of every month. ![]() |

'little mermaid' is only some six years old, Adri, and I think I was too unsophisticated to use a ’handle’ – just used my name.
----------------------------------------It’s a little funny. You know I don’t bake ![]() Your bakery, however, seems to be in Japan. Near me a Japanese baker from Hiroshima has planted cherry trees along a road leading to Gavnø – a nearby castle. He served as a honorary consular to Denmark, and was so enthused by 'the Danish lifestyle, people, and the Danish culture' it says on a stone where the trees start that he decided to give us this gift. I have a repeat note in my Google calendar to go there every year. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Feb 24, 2018 9:17:05 AM] |

Sorry for disturbing this much and off topicly, TKizzle.
----------------------------------------They say that there is no such thing as poor PR - all is good - and it does give you some business here as long as your members have not found the thread yet ![]() I went into my archives and found Mr Takaki's dedication in full for the cherry trees - it is very touching, I think: ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Feb 24, 2018 9:04:56 AM] |

OK, I'm here. Since we seem to be communicating with pictures, I'll continue with pictures of wood:
----------------------------------------![]() That is what I do in my spare time while my machines heat the office.Diameter about 17", height 13", made from elm wood. I think I have enough bonus gigabytes with easynews to last me several lifetimes now, but I haven't found a reason for switching teams... Thanks for picking up the baton Tkizzle. Your emails were the first communication I received from the team so you've already far exceeded our previous captain in this regard.
----------------------------------------For the readers from other groups, the Easynews group is / was a corporate initiative by the company. The service charged by the gigabyte of data downloaded through their service. They offered half a gig of download for free to customers for every 14 days of crunching for the team. That's how I got into WCG and it saved me a fair penny over time. I stopped visiting Usenet more than a few years ago and am no longer an Easynews customer, but stay on with the team in thanks for their corporate responsibility in supporting this initiative. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by PeaceRiverGuy at Dec 24, 2017 5:41:45 PM] |
