Elapsed time query

Hi and firstly apologies if this is in the wrong spot or you have done the topic to death. I did search first.

I have times when I check the status of tasks but don't do it religiously (daily) and I can see a task has a completion time of lets say 8 minutes. I check the next day or a week later and see that the elapsed time is 72 hours with 3 minutes remaining.

I do know that nothing runs for that amount of time so usually abort the task. I do find it project specific and from memory always Ebola.

Am I right to abort? All other projects run to the time at the same time (so if 4 things running, all but Ebola are sticking to the time estimated.)

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you for any support you can give me on this.

Re: Elapsed time query

The Ebola tasks I have seen this happen on Android phones. I don't run ebola on computers at the moment, so I can't tell you if it happens on those. In my instances, sometimes they went upwards of 100+ hours and finally finished but I let them be and they completed on their own. You can continue to let it run, and it should finish. Or you can suspend and resume the job, and it will pick up from its last checkpoint and, again, should finish. Otherwise, you could do as you did and abort the job. If you abort, it will be sent out to someone else. So it is not as if the work is wasted, only the time your device spent working on it is wasted.

Re: Elapsed time query

The Ebola time estimates to finish are problematic. I have experienced the same thing where the percentage done and the remaining time estimates are wildly divergent and make no sense. They do all eventually finish, but the allowed points for some of these longer running units seem to randomly only allow the cheat prevention score of 39.4 points regardless of the length of time the unit has used.
Cheers
