Tasks generating SIGSEGV

Hi Folks,
I have been running several projects on my Nexus 5 for a while and they all seem to be generating errors.

My phone has been doing OpenZika and Smash Childhood Cancer and the problem has gotten to the point that all jobs are erroring out now.

Sample error output:

<core_client_version>7.4.53</core_client_version>

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

I have upgraded my phone to the latest LineageOS to see if that helps...
Not running stock Google Android now.

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

I have not seen any errors on any of my androids, although I am only running SCC at this time.

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

I have had to remove BOINC from the 3 Nexus 5s that I have. Just generating SIGSEGVs all the time.
The upgrade to LineageOS made no difference.
I'll just give up on the Android compute.

:(

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

For the record, I just stuck with the default settings after installing BOINC.
The Phone is an D820 Nexus 5 now running LineageOS 14.1 (7.1.2 Android equivalent).

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

Does it continue to fail running only one work unit at a time?

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

Yes, I get failures if I restrict to single task execution, although some some of the tasks do complete.

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

You mentioned you had three nexus phones. All three did the same thing?

shock Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

Sorry typo, just the 2. And yes, they both exhibit the problem.
It really is weird.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what to try, I am willing to put BOINC on my main phone to try.

Interestingly, one of the jobs that failed most recently generated a SIGILL. Not sure what that's all about. :S

I should probably point out that the phone is very stable in all other respects otherwise I would start to worry about memory problems. I run Netflix/Slack and number of other heavyish apps and I don't ever seem to see any stability issues.

Re: Tasks generating SIGSEGV

You mentioned a fresh install of Lineage OS, so I am guessing you don't have any bloatware that would fill up the storage. Do you by chance have BOINC restricted to only use a low percentage of storage space in the preferences?
Everything that I am reading online about this points to memory/storage issues. People use the word "memory" when I believe them to be discussing actual storage. Can you try a clean install of BOINC, and in the preferences allow only one CPU. Allow 90% or higher RAM usage, and allow BOINC to use 90% of storage. See if it will run one task at a time without issue.
