Re: Africa Rainfall Project: Badge Recognition Thread

So proud to announce my Bronze... I have a total of 5 rigs, only 3 on like nearly always. So that is a pretty good achievement- for little me.

I'm surprised because, even with a 0.5 day cache and >50 cores, I did not fetch any ARP WUs since one week.
thinking
Yves (still sticking at 8 days)

I'm using a couple of cron file lines to request updates twice an hour at the appropriate time, and I have ~1.4 days cache that stays nicely filled. I suspect I'm going to get accused of vacuuming up more than my fair share, but when it's as easy as 'taking candy from a baby' I'll keep doing it. I get my fun from trying to optimise my 8-thread lappie.

Differing views I guess; with so many people on a dry spell, I just got bronze and opting out of this project for others to get their medal. Bonne chance! tongue

Hi Yves!
As long as WUs get loaded at fixed times (when there are some to load, which is not so often) you will have little chance to get one with random requests.

But maybe the staff will change loading times to re-shuffle the game and keep hunters awake... wink
