Re: Work Available

Running on all cores threads doubles the runtime so you throughput on arp is probably the same as if you run arp only on half of your cores threads and other projects on the other half of the cores.

Maybe the new ryzen generation solves the problem with huge L3 Cache :)

No, the cache requirements of the ARP dominate the other factors. Running on all cores is less efficient than running on fewer. Using full cores is about optimum. You can use the other threads for other projects, but unless they have small cache requirements, you are losing more than you gain.

Re: Work Available

I'm running only my "spare" ARP, I hope no one is hoarding a bunch while some of us sit with idle CPUs. I also hope this isn't a sign of something broken as many of the tech are dealing with website issues right now. Sigh. Hopefully this will be just a short annoying blip. :-)

Re: Work Available

They are still readily available but not necessarily immediately. With so few available overall, it is possible to miss an availability and miss again the next time you try.

With a 4.6 day average turnaround and most machines only taking 12-30 hours, there must be a lot held in over-large caches.

Re: Work Available

Numerous requests from my PC have gone out for work from the ARP project since 10 UTC 24 Sep. It always comes back with "No tasks are available for African Rainfall Project". I've changed nothing on my end so something else is going on.

Re: Work Available

I was only assigned a single _3 resend, so I'm noticing the dearth of ARP tasks as well.

Re: Work Available

Appears only resends since around 10:00 UTC on 24th.
WUProp numbers show ongoing decrease, around 1/4 of numbers up to 24th.

Re: Work Available

I'm seeing a message "tasks are committed to other platforms" in a recent update request rather than "no tasks available". I guess that means if I were running Linux rather than Windows I'd be able to get a work unit. I'm down to my last two when I normally try to run 15. I've removed my own limit on MCM tasks so the machine doesn't go idle.

Re: Work Available

Issues at Delft

"Due to a technical issue at Delft University we are currently unable to download new inputs to create new workunits for the project.

As a result, until this issue is resolved, the only tasks that are being distributed are those tasks that need to be sent to finish existing workunits."
