Re: Work Available

Unixchick

My daily report was intended to show what was happening with the releasing of units around the end of a current generation. It seems to have succeeded. We now know that they are releasing the current generation in numerical order together with any slow runners that become available and starting the next generation as soon as the reach the end of a generation.

This has closed up the movable stragglers, which we requested, but still leaves the stuck units to be resurrected.

There is 1 moving unit in gen 136 and a few moving in 137 - 141. I will suspend my daily report once those movers have cleared 141 and include the % in my Sunday Report.

Re: Work Available

Again no movement of extremes. There are 318, all of which appear to be stuck.

No accelerated units validated. 1 is now in generation 136. I think that it is the only accelerated moving out of 442. If anyone has it, please expedite it.

We have now started on generation 143.

1,272 normals validated yesterday. There are now 33,293 normals in the generations being released, many of which may be stuck, particularly in generations 137 to 141.

There are now 898 held up in generation 144 and we are now about 6% of the way through generation 143.

There has been an irregular increase in downloads.

I believe the last moving accelerated unit has validated and is now in generation 137. I presume that the remaining 441 units are stuck.

We are now well into generation 143.

1,374 normals validated yesterday. There are now 32,797 normals in the generations being released, many of which may be stuck, particularly in generations 137 to 141.

There are now 1,335 units held up in generation 144 and we are now about 11% of the way through generation 143.

Downloads seem to be increasing slowly..

Re: Work Available

After 2025-04-12T03:00:07 (that's Saturday) receiving tasks from freshly generated ARP1-workunits has stopped on my side, while the flow of MCM1 hasn't been interrupted.

We are now 18% into generation 143.

641 normals validated yesterday. There are now 31,664 normals in the generations being released, many of which may be stuck, particularly in generations 137 to 141. There is at least 1 moving in generations 137 & 141.

There are now 2,468 units held up in generation 144.

We have had a slowdown of units downloaded..

Re: Work Available

Sunday Report

All classifications have stayed put..

There are still 3 ultras in generations 21 & 22, 8 extremes in generations 104 - 110 and 12 in generations 115 - 124,

None of those generations contain more than 2 units.

We then have 295 extremes in generations 125 - 131.

All of them appear to be stuck.

There are now 318 extremes in generations 21 to 131 but all seem to be stuck.

There are now 441 accelerated units in generations 132 to 136, all of which appear to be stuck.

There are 34,850 normal units in generations 137 to 146..

WCG are currently releasing units in generations up to 143.

6,562 units have validated in the week.

Based on the last 5 weeks, we would complete ARP1 in August 2029. However, there may be an improvement when the new hardware is online in July.

Re: Work Available

Nice update Mike. I'm now running 4 ARP WUs at a time. I'll enjoy it while I can.

Any guess on what percentage of all of the grid squares have been "abandoned" (at least for the moment) . I think it was said at some point that even from the status files we do have that it doesn't add up to the known total. We can also see from the status files the tail of "stuck" data in older generations that is no longer moving.

I would love to see an official update from the ARP team about their plan. Science is about learning so no shame if they don't know how to handle some of the data, but I would love to know if they plan to get these stuck ones moving again, or not.

I think it would change the finish date if we knew the answer to what the size of the data set is now.
