However, what I have now is way better than the 14.4 baud modem with which I started. The DSL is very dependable and it does handle all the data that gets thrown at it. So far there have been no limits on the data. Cheers Can I ask what speed download/upload you got? And monthly cost if you're willing. DSL's come a long way the past 20 years. My last apartment had 5 down/1 up Time Warner Cable since I'm frugal and it worked fine. Started at $19.99, then $29.99, $39.99 all for 5/1.

Can I ask what speed download/upload you got? And monthly cost if you're willing. For my Verizon FiOS here in New Jersey, offering 75 megabits/second up and down, the rate is $79.99/month, but I have them automatically bill it to my American Express card, so I get a $30/month discount, so I pay $49.99/month. Here is what I actually get. Usually, I get better upload speeds to east of the Mississippi, but uploads are bad to Atlanta today. Date Download Upload Test Server ![]() |

At 8:57:09 AM New Zealand time downloaded 2 tasks on my ethernet connection status under received it showed just over 87 MB. I was expecting it to say over 200 MB considering each task download is 100 MB.

Can I ask what speed download/upload you got? And monthly cost if you're willing. DSL's come a long way the past 20 years I have Century Link. I think I am paying for 12mb down and 4mb up. Cost is 45.00 U.S. a month. I just ran a speed test and it showed 4.63Mbps down and .48Mbps up. Of course this is 5:30 PM here so it is a busy time. But even at that speed, It is plenty good enough for what I do. I did check their website and they do offer a price for life of $49.00 a month for up to 40Mbps download. I might have to check into this. I think the last time I checked, that speed was not available in my area. Cheers

Finally got fibre all the way to the modem last week. I was hoping it would happen before ARP1 was launched but it was delayed due to fibre cable shipping problems. ARP1 units aren't a problem anymore.

I was hoping it would happen before ARP1 was launched ... I built a Ryzen 2700 for ARP, over a year ago. I needn't have bothered. But I have 50 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up over RCN cable, for $80./month. That is their lowest tier, and I can easily get more, but have never needed it with 9 machines, and probably won't now. |

More WCG projects do this such as MIP1, which can be as much as just a flick of a switch, not even a download being logged. |
