Problem with Windows behavior with BOINC client installed.

I have a behavior which is inconvenient on a consistent basis. When the computer is left idle and the BOINC client starts and then I return to use the machine, open windows fail to respond to mouse clicks either to close or get any type of window focus. I am forced to use the taskbar to close the app and then re-open. I un-installed the client and the behavior stopped so pretty sure the BOINC client is the problem.

Window 10 Pro build 1909

Do you have any projects that might be using the GPU?
Those would be projects outside WCG.

Re: Problem with Windows behavior with BOINC client installed.

Since W10 1903 I have to suspend all ready to start tasks, then suspend all running tasks, using BOINCStats "suspend at checkpoint" function and only then exit BOINC client, then boot. On boot, run a BOINC repair install to get the ownership set back on the data dir exclusive drive partition, then start client and resume the formerly running tasks, then resume the ready to start. If I don't, BOINC is prevented from starting the jobs, not a cycle, and then kills the tasks after 30 seconds. This start, try, kill cycle can last 30-40 results before somehow BOINC does get ownership back. And still the fickle MIP that were running will manage to crash. The new ones then run fine.

7.16 is not an option, 7.14 is stable.

This is the monthly routine after update Tuesday. Power failure and boot and all BOINC goes belly up, for the next 30-40 tasks, otherwise hibernating and resume works perfect.

WCG is the only project running.
