At the moment, the starting order appears to be based on the finish deadline. This is not so viable when there is a big disparity in crunching times between projects.
Could the starting order be changed to be based on the start deadline, please? By start deadline I mean finish deadline minus estimated crunching time. Mike |

No. Rule 1) FIFO for a number of reasons. Only when there's scheduling panic based on projected runtime and individual deadline will the order change to EDF.
If you think you have a case, you have to present that at the BOINC developer forums or on their alpha mailing list. |
