PSA: Fix Your Sig

Hey, for a lot of you, your Sig is not displaying (at least on Android).

It's caused by using http instead of https which causes an error when the page loads.

Fix that and you're good to go.

Re: PSA: Fix Your Sig

I'd have to search for it (perhaps in the SNURK signature thread in Chat forum), but I posted that:

1. People should change their snurk image URLs to https (i.e. the point of this thread). A WCG tech could do this for the entire forum by running a SQL query against the forum database instead of relying on all members to do it.

2. SNURK could also update his web server to perform a 301 redirect, which would redirect any http requests to https. Additionally, he could add a HSTS directive.

3. As a workaround, I could write a ruleset to HTTPS Everywhere for SNURK's domain. I've submitted a couple dozen rulesets to that project already, but really, the project is a bandaid, and ultimately, the solution is for website operators to use proper 301 redirects and HSTS. The add-on/extension does have EASE mode (Encrypt All Sites Eligible) which attempts https even if a ruleset doesn't already exist, but it's not fool-proof. I haven't switched my browsers to EASE mode.

Re: PSA: Fix Your Sig

https seems to be supported for the Snurk signature.

Re: PSA: Fix Your Sig

Funny, if you fix your browser with HTTPS Everywhere (which at least can be loaded as add-on to any chrome based web browser) nobody has to fix anything. I certainly am never seeing the issue.

My chrome based browser doesn't support add-ons.

Re: PSA: Fix Your Sig

That's new to me. Which one is that? In Chrome itself it's More Tools > Extensions to see which are added and you can catch the library at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions for any chrome based browser

Edit: Just hit the "add to chrome" button https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/https%20everywhere

Might even work for Edge which has switched to the chrome engine too.

HTTPS Everywhere also has an extension for Firefox IIRC.
