I recently lost my data hard drive and thus all the WCG / BOINC XML files. I replaced the hard drive and rebuilt the subdirectories to where the client was saying it couldn't get to. I also reinstalled the current WCG BOINC client. So now my computer can run the 12 WCG tasks in the background, but I can't get any display of the project or tasks on the client. The client does say it is disconnected, but I don't know how to get it to reconnect. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bob, sorry for the long wait. If you have the BOINC Manager open, Advanced View, select File menu > Select Computer > type in Host name: localhost
Leave the password field blank and hit OK. The manager should connect to the core client if it is running. If you don't see Select Computer in the File menu, first click View > Advanced View. In the connect failed, restart the computer, which is often needed after a first (re)install of BOINC. Let us know. |
