Re: Sawyer's Cancer Fighting Network

Hello everyone!

Long time no see - today is the 3rd anniversary of when my dad got diagnosed with cancer. We are making great progress to our goal of 2,500 years (right now we are at 1,276 years), and today I'd like to thank OldChap and Little Mermaid.

OldChap - I'd just like to say thank you - for all the support, contributions, leadership, and guidance you've given to me. It was because of you that we were able to reach the goal, and I can't thank you enough for that. Sending good wishes.

Little Mermaid - I don't know if you are reading this since you are taking a break, but if you are, thank you for being our fearless leader and keeping the team rallied to reach 1,000 years. You are in my thoughts each and every day.

Thank you both again, and everyone who has contributed to the team. I hope all of you are doing well.

Re: Sawyer's Cancer Fighting Network

Hi Sawyer and crew! How are you getting along? Terribly sad news about Old Chap. I really like what he quoted from Terry Pratchett: "No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away." Old Chap's ripples are still felt around here. It can be our honor to keep them rippling. Best wishes one and all as we enter a new school year.

Re: Sawyer's Cancer Fighting Network

Hey everyone!

One year ago today marks us reaching 1,000 years of cancer research. I still remember that feeling of logging in and seeing that number. A lot has changed since then - Little Mermaid left the forums and OldChap unfortunately passed away. In honor of them both, we are still crunching along, now at 1,439 years and still moving forward.

My dad is doing well, still "stable and boring" as the doctors say, and on Thursday I start my first day of high school.

As we conclude one year on our journey to 2,500 years of cancer research processing time, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has helped get us to where we are now. I hope everyone is doing well.

-Sawyer

Thanks for the update, Sawyer!

We're thrilled to hear that your dad's prognosis is still "stable and boring," and wish you the best for a great first year of high school!

Re: Sawyer's Cancer Fighting Network

Hey everyone!

It's been a couple of months since I last posted--and I'm excited to share that we've gained 7 new members, crossed 250 all time members, along with surpassing 1,567 years of cancer research processing time! My dad is still "stable and boring," and the start of high school has been an exciting journey.

Thank you so much to everyone who has stuck with the team, and wishing everyone here a (belated) happy new year!
