Attracting members not on a team

We can post in our own team thread, but it is just chit-chat between us.

I don't want to post in other team threads either. I am not trying to steal members from other teams.

There should be some way to impress on members that there is no penalty for joining a team. They can even change each day if they want to leave one team and join another.
How do we attract these orphan members not in a team?

I think some are not interested in the team aspect and just want to crunch by themselves, with which there is nothing wrong. Others are attracted to the team aspect for a myriad of reasons such as computer hardware, lifestyle, beliefs, geography, hobbies etc. These are the people who gravitate towards the team aspect. They are looking for commonalities.
I know I have very occasionally posted in other team's threads and have tried not to be intrusive about it. Mostly to congratulate someone on personal milestone or to offer encouragement. So far no one has banned me from their threads, so I feel OK about it. I offer the same welcome to anyone who wishes to post in my team's thread.
I am at loss as to how to answer your question. Perhaps you will hear from some of the solo members as to what needs and wants they have for team membership. Good luck.
Cheers

Re: Attracting members not on a team

I am a solo cruncher. Tell me why I would want to join any team. Had a look around.

Saw a Christian team then under it an Atheist, Agnostic team, I presume there is a Muslim team and probably a Jewish team and an Orthodox team.

Country teams, city teams, OS teams, language teams, etc, etc

Sounds like social media: likes, re-tweets, etc.

I'm OK with that for those who want to.
