Dear friends,
As we all know, each work unit produces a log file. If there is an error, the name of the error is written down in this log file. I would like to know, whtere it is possible to publish a list of all, really all possible errors that can occur in a BOINC log file. in the second column of this list the possible reason of this error should be written down. Is this deemed possible? Such a list would it make quicker to find the solution of the error. Crunchers would be less annoyed and frustrated by errors, if the solution of all errors can be found easily, in such a list, Maybe someone knows, where in the BOINC programme code the list of all errors is hidden? Thank you for comments and contributions in achieving this goal. |

Hello,
it is good to have those lists in this forum here now. Do you know how the volonteers who created the lists did the quality control? Did they get first hand info from IBM or the university in Berkley? The soltuion for the errors proposed must in my opinion be 100% correct. If not, users might get frustrated. A more complete list with a worse quality would do no good in my view. All the best M |

Martin,
----------------------------------------Those lists were created years ago. Jord/Ageless is a very knowledgable volunteer at the BOINC Forums and Sekerob is a very knowledgeable volunteer at WCG who was also Community Advisor until that role was extinguished. I see no reason why they would be wrong. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Hello,
sorry, but you have misunderstood me. This was not critisim of the work that has already been done. It was thinking how I could keep up the quality if I made additons to the list. Sometimes errors can have many reasons and it is not easy to give correct info. So: Rather self critisim. I do not want to do harm, you understand? Thanks and all the best M |

I don't know but in any case, you would have to contact WCG if you are interested in modifying/updating those threads in the Community Support forum.
