Need Help * Download/ Running BOINC on Power 7+ with CENTOS 7.9.2009

Hi,
fist, a happy new Year to all.

I Neid help downloading and running BOIN on an IBM Power 7+ with CENTOS 7.9.2009.

When I use the command

sudo yum install boinc-client boinc-manager

I'll get the response

Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: linux.darkpenguin.net
* epel: mirror.infonline.de
* extras: mirrors.coreix.net
* updates: linux.darkpenguin.net
No package boinc-client available.
No package boinc-manager available.

Any ideas, what I can do?

Thanks for your support.
Michael

Boinc 7.16.11-3 is available in the epel repository. Although your list shows this as available it could be worth doing :-

sudo yum install -y epel-release

before you start.

If that doesn’t help take a look at :-

Are you running some sort of intel emulation on your Power 7+ system?

If I read

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/System_requirements

correctly, I don't see any linux on Power 7+ support. If that is correct, it's no wonder that the packages don't exist.

There is a thread 'Power8 CPU architecture support' in the Hardware Chat Room. It is not encouraging.

H to all
thanks for you response.

I found ppc64 rpms at

http://suse.uni-leipzig.de/pub/fedoraproject.org/epel/

install them and BOINC is running fine......

BUT.... the projects didn't support the CPU .....

Correct, no WCG projects support this architecture.
