Meow? The first thing I would do is to shut down the system and start the computer fresh, what is known as a cold start. When the system comes back up try Running Mapping Cancer Markers again. If the same problem happens again, you could try here for some help. Cheers

I would set NNT. Finish the MCM tasks if you have any left. Then restart the computer and BOINC. Then reset the project, allow New tasks, and try Open Pandemics again.
----------------------------------------Edit: And of course, make sure that you do not run an old BOINC version. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Mar 16, 2021 9:53:26 PM] |

I did a project reset, we'll see if that has any effect in a day or two.

I take it that it is the Open Pandemics CPU tasks you're talking about that error out, and not the Open Pandemics Beta GPU tasks?

Correct, I am not running any GPU beta.

Kittyman, you never told what OS you have on the computer in question.
From my own experience, Open Pandemics tasks does not work on XP. MCM works though, and probably MIP too So, if you're running XP, you will never get Open Pandemics to run. I tried it back in April, during OPN Beta, with an old XP I have, and it failed utterly with the same error you're getting. The Open Pandemics executable afaik, is compiled for Windows with the MajorSubsystemVersion set to 6 which means Vista is the oldest Windows OS that will work. |

We apparently have an answer to this error problem. This computer is an old rig running XP 64 bit. I have been told that the OpenPandemics application will not run under XP.

I know that there is a solution to this with some "hacking" or what you would call it of the executable. I do not remember what program those who did it was using though. I never bothered doing it. Perhaps someone in the know, could chime in and explain the details.

PEInfo can change the header to allow running on XP.
----------------------------------------I did this and have many valid OPN1 workunits on 2 PCs. Search the forums for details, will edit if I find it. Edit:link below. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=627126 Paul.
