Are different device types validating against each other? Can a job run on Nvidia validate against AMD? Or any other combination. Or are WUs only being distributed to same-type devices, Nvidia/Nvidia AMD/AMD, Intel/Intel Keith answered that one in https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...ad,43311_offset,70#654827But also read the follow-up a couple of posts later in the same thread. We don't have details of those other (non-BOINC) validation tests. So it sounds like they restrict WUs to being distributed to the same plan class. And since each app has a different plan class for device type. That would force all WUs to be matched up with their same device type. Only nvidia/nvidia, AMD/AMD, Intel/Intel. Yes? I agree with your comment that that’s not an ideal situation. Thinking back to the issue on SETI (and maybe Einstein too) where certain AMD devices (5700 Navi cards) were providing consistently incorrect result because of an issue with their driver. They validated with each other but not against other devices. ![]() EPYC 7V12 / [5] RTX A4000 EPYC 7B12 / [5] RTX 3080Ti + [2] RTX 2080Ti EPYC 7B12 / [6] RTX 3070Ti + [2] RTX 3060 [2] EPYC 7642 / [2] RTX 2080Ti [Edit 1 times, last edit by Ian-n-Steve C. at Apr 10, 2021 8:55:07 PM] |

I cited a similar problem with Intel_GPUs. That one was originally assumed to be a driver problem, too - but eventually turned out to be a configuration error in compilation. That same compilation problem is present in the Windows app released here.

Hello. I have got couple of GPU tasks but all of them have status "GPU suspended - user request (0.559CPUs + 1 NVIDIA GPU).
----------------------------------------Anyone know what that means and how I resume them? Thanks ![]() |

Did you check wether you allow the GPU to run while your computer is in use?

Did you check wether you allow the GPU to run while your computer is in use? Yes. It is allowed of course. That is why I don´t know what else to try. ![]() |

You might have the option to "Suspend when computer is in use" or "Suspend GPU computing when computer is in use" active. That would mean that every time you go to the computer to see what's happening, it stops.

If it was one of the automatic suspend options, shouldn't it read "GPU suspended - computer in use"? I use a german setup so i don't know the wording in english.
----------------------------------------Sounds more like the GPU is paused in the menu. ![]() |

Now it is working but WUs finished and then error out. First errored out after start I updated GPU driver and then they started normally but after Autodock END they errored out. :(

I'm getting lots of_2,_3 tasks now, to clean up from failing iGPUs,and older GPU's.
It's fine though. My GTX660M runs flawlessly, even if it's a very old, slow, and only a 2 Compute Units card. ![]() |
