Re: Work unit availability

In the recent past, I made an interesting observation:
The PCs with the "weakest" GPUs (GTX970, GTX1650, GTX980ti) receive many more WUs than the PC with the two RTX3070 inside. The latter one hasn't gotten any WUs since yesterday, the GTX970 and the GTX1650 have almost been swamped.

Is this just coincidence, or is it by design?
Because it would make much sense the other way round, of course.

Re: Work unit availability

Hi erich,

how was this observation made? Do they share same network connection etc?

My observation is, that on the long run, my computers get roughly a same amount of work units. However, on slow GPUs (like Intel UHD, gt1030 etc) they some times queue up, since it takes ages hours to complete single GPU WU.

Re: Work unit availability

Hi biini,

yes, all PCs share same network connection.

I made my observation by simply looking at the results list, where, over the day, I am seeing tons of WUs for the slow machines, and just a few ones for the PC with the two RTX3070 :-(

So it seems to me that there must be a specific reason for this behaviour.

I have observed this behaviour for quite some time.
And within the past days, it was even more like that :-(

Perhaps someone from the project team could tell what this is about

There is no implementation or logic applied to cause the outcomes you describe. It is due to randomness that you are seeing that outcome.
