I have a UHD Iris 540 and don't get any GPU work either. My NVIDIA GPU system does, so it's not a setting. Are they pushing Intel GPU-ready workunits right now? Does the system with the UHD Iris 540 have any other GPUs? What is "Allow research to run on my CPU?" set to in your device profile preferences for that device? Same for everything in "Graphics Card Usage" Does the UHD Iris 540 show up at the top of your Event Log? (Ctrl+Shift+E from boinc manager). Or if that does not go far enough back to see when you started boinc, you can look at stdoutdae.txt in your boinc data folder (windows 10 default is "C:\ProgramData\BOINC"). My Intel HD520 and UHD are still waiting for their first GPU WUs... HD4600 are getting them constantly.

My Intel HD520 and UHD are still waiting for their first GPU WUs... HD4600 are getting them constantly. I tried all various tricks on those two laptops that aren working.. reseted project, reinstalled boinc, downgraded drivers from cl3 to cl2.1 , reinstalled windows, I even installed linux ubuntu one of them but still no WUs for Intel GPUs :-( Is this still with "Allow research to run on my CPU?" set to No? If so, I have something that I would like you to try. On the WCG website, go to the profile settings for whichever profile you have set for that machine. Set "Allow research to run on my CPU?" to Yes. Set the project limits for "OpenPandemics - COVID-19" to some low number so that you do not get many CPU work units. On the boinc manager on the machine, double check that Options->Computing Preferences says "Using web-based preferences from" the error message seems always to be World Community Grid | can't fetch Intel GPU: project is backed off This is not actually an error. It is because the work fetch runs much more often than it is allowed to actually send requests to WCG. Makes sense. My friend called me last week and told that his laptop started using GPU after he enabled CPU computing on the web. It sounded so absurd I didnt even figured out to test that

Yes it is wierd, in fact I would classify it as a bug. After we talked on the forum several days ago, I thought it made no sense. So, I set about trying to replicate your issue. I was successful and can reproduce it easily. We have been digging into it since then. It seems the scheduler only sends work for intel_gpu to machines that only have an intel_gpu if they have cpu computing enabled. I let my test machine build up about a days worth and then disabled cpu computing and it still had not gotten any more before it finished them. Is there any update on this? It seems that after initial burst of GPU WUs I'm now receiving only CPU WUs. I'm afraid that after stress test CPU WUs are only thing I'm gonna catch on those laptops |
