After updating my 'school' Device Profile (which is in use for an Android device) I noticed that two other 'extra' profiles (named '4700U' and 'i5-8250U') were triggered showing messages in the Event Log. In the Event Log of the extra profile 'i5-8250U' this was recorded:
Fri 08 Oct 2021 20:09:35 | WCG*| General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 08-Oct-2021 20:08:19)(*: shortened to "WCG") Note: I haven't changed the profile of i5-8250U, so "(last modified 08-Oct-2021 20:08:19)" did not apply to i5-8250U, because I changed the 'school' profile. So modifying one profile triggers showing a modification message in other profiles, which doesn't seem right to me. Has this always been the case? Adri |

Yes, as long as I remember.
----------------------------------------Not sure if this is logged as a BOINC issue or if fixed in later server levels. Paul.

Presume these are profiles over and above the standard (home, school, work, default). Not supported, tolerated whenever a user creates them i.e bound there's something to get broken with that facility. I.e. how does BOINCStats handle the import of the data for these at 'venue' level? BOINC ww only knows the standard 4.

I get the issue with just standard 4 profiles.

It's a WCG issue.
These updates are triggered, because WCG don't make a difference between Global preferences and Project preferences like other BOINC projects. They have mixed them up in one form. So when you have changed your project preferences, Global preferences get a new updated datetime-group too. |
