Combining teams?

I'm a member of the IBM Rochester, MN team, and I figured out last year that there's another IBM Rochester team. (I know the captain and it took a while to figure out why we're not on the same team) My team has been dwindling due to attrition (retirements, mostly) and I assume the other is as well. I am retired now, but still on the team because I use my own computers and electricity for crunching so why not?

Is there any chance the two teams could be consolidated? I have not contacted the two team captains yet because I can't find a way on the forum to send a private message.

Re: Combining teams?

You could switch to, subscribe to or join the other team first (Go to My Contribution → Team → see/click button "E-mail Captain"). As soon as that's happened, then you can (try to) contact their team captain. (If you're a team captain yourself, you have the possibility to (dis)allow e-mail being sent to you (link, see "Team E-mail:" and "Team E-mail Address:"). So, it's not always possible to contact a team captain directly.)

"There is not currently a captain of your team, or the captain of the team has not opted-in to receive E-mails from members of the team."

Re: Combining teams?

I emailed the captain a couple of weeks ago (figured out his email address) and I got an out-of-office notice back that said he'd reply on Monday (this was on a Friday), then he never did. So I assume I'm on a zombie team with no leader and almost no members, and I should just resign from it and let it die. (I keep all my points, right?) I can just be a free agent.

This is probably moot anyway since even tho' WCG is supposed to be back online I have not received any tasks in months. I have over 100 years of crunching, but all things come to an end.

WCG is not yet fully online. They are still testing and only sending out small sporadic packages of work units. We are all still waiting. hang in there.
