Re: 2022-08-05 Update (workunit shortage explanation)

Geez people, don't you think the WCG folks are eager to restart the work too?

I'm also looking forward to not have my servers sitting at 0% CPU most of the time.
Just take a break, sign off the forum, go enjoy the weather, take a bike ride and come back in a month. All this negative energy is not good for your healths! wink
They might need a new research project if you keep this up: help reduce stress and frustration induced illnesses.

1st post here even though I've been submitting work on WCG since 2009. Sorry about this post but I couldn't help it.

Sound advice, let us see how you think more often.

You could run another Boinc Project like tn grid with 0% ressource share.
That means you will only get wus from tn grid if there are no wus from wcg.

Its a easy way to set up a backup project.

Agreed these seem good projects. I signed up for Rosetta first when WCG closed end February but I have not been receiving regular work from them. I then signed up for DENIS last month but have yet to receive a single work-unit. However, last week I found SiDock and have been crunching regularly since.
I will still keep WCG as a project but it is a nice feeling in the meantime not to have wasted CPU cycles when my PCs are switched on!
