Profile - Where do I find specific info

Looking to fine tune the various entries in the four profiles (default, home, work and school).

Most of the entries are pretty straightforward and I have wandered back through this forum and help section on Krembil’s WCG website but have not located the specific information I need.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewDevices.do

Then in Installed/Registered Device: select Anytime (all devices)

Next select a profile

Re: Profile - Where do I find specific info

That will teach me to be more specific in what I am looking for.
The valid information you gave me addressed the question you thought I was asking but, I should have been more specific in my original message.

I have printed out the various profiles I have already defined and the key area that I have a question on at this time is the section:

WORKUNIT CACHE SETTINGS
Connect to network about every xxxx days
Cache yyyy extra days of work

I was under the impression that the value xxxx would be a decimal value where 1.0 would mean “once a day” 0.5 would mean “twice a day” etc.

I have tried various values from 0.002 to 0.05 but the polling is not approximating the number of minutes expected and I was wondering why AND is there an unstated limit on the range of these values.

The value yyyy for extra days of work has not translated to the expected number of work units staged ( both active and ready to run).

I guess I also need to make sure the values in the PROJECT LIMITS are appropriately adjusted.
And does this include the actively processing WU, is this in addition to them or based on estimated processing time?

Re: Profile - Where do I find specific info

I thought my reply was too simple but...
We were close.

I've never played with those except to define which project each process and how many of each like on my powerful Ryzen 9 I specify 6 ARPs, 20 MCMs, 20 OPNs, and unlimited for the rest.

On a lowly laptop I deselected ARP since I suspect it might not make it in time.

I mainly use the computing preferences in the Boinc Manager for each machine.
options/computing preferences/computing tab -> then the Other section near the bottom
