Can't find here any setting for this. The icons show, in which threads there are new posts since my last visit*, but each time I have to find out myself which post is the last one I've read. Any sane forum software supported this 20+ years ago.

I am not aware of a way to go to the first un-read post, only last posted (arrow to right of poster's name).

This one I found already, but that isn't very useful if I haven't been here for a couple of days and want to check the news threads about the progress of WCG starting up again. Usually I even don't know on which page to start. |

Not sure this will answer your question.
----------------------------------------I use the date stamps on the forum index page. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/index So today is October 15, 2022 and you have not been here in three days then any forum dated after Oct 11 is a target. You are correct about your subject of "news on the progress". It is spread all over when it should be in the News forum. As for the progress, I don't check anymore. I've given my machines TN-Grid as a second project and they all seem happy munching away. I check on them once or twice a day just to see. Twice in the last month or so I've turned off TN-Grid and they run dry so WCG is not yet ready. As you can see in my stats they have had lots of work to do. Not sure this will answer your question. Well, I guess the answer is "no, there is no one-click-way to the last unread post like in pretty much every other forum".  So today is October 15, 2022 and you have not been here in three days then any forum dated after Oct 11 is a target. Usually I don't know when I have been here last time and for sure not which threads I've read at that time and which I skipped. In particular the 2nd part is the issue as all thread are "marked as read" automatically. I'm 100% on Einstein now, I won't even bother allowing new tasks for WCG as long as there's not enough work for everyone, that would be completely pointless IMHO.
