Update from the OPN1 team
The OPN1 team has prepared nearly 800 work unit packages on their server, and are getting ready to share them with us. There is no ETA on their arrival yet, we will make another announcement when they have been sent out. The team shared this with us: “The work units that are currently in preparation target three SARS-CoV-2 proteins: PLpro, NSP1, and Helicase. We are focusing on these proteins as part of the Center for Antiviral Medicines and Pandemic Preparedness (CAMPP), a larger project lead by Scripps to develop drugs against virus with pandemic potential*. Analysis of prior work units is ongoing for PLpro. Future work units will likely extend to other viruses. Work units will include molecules from a few different vendors, especially Enamine, with which we are continuing our successful collaboration.” Thanks to the OPN1 team for providing us with this update. Well, while that OPN1 news is certainly appreciated, it would be even more appreciated right now to get any real info about what's going on with the increased numbers of (MCM1) WUs stuck in validation for a while now...

Question: So, can you tell me what the relatively few new OPNG tasks of the type "cys_down--LYS125" that was sent out the other days (Feb 11-13), was all about? They certainly were not from the old "TYR268" batches, that we've been working on before the OPN1/OPNG pause. I got 19 OPNG task, at about the same time as Mike Gibson. 4 of them first, and then another 15, 25 minutes later.

I got 19 OPNG task, at about the same time as Mike Gibson. 4 of them first, and then another 15, 25 minutes later. I got first two single ones on my programming laptop this morning, then all the sudden a batch of 30. They all processed by the time I got back in the office half an hour ago, but half of them are still in PV jail... Since then, only one resend (pending verification). I guess they haven't fully released the Kraken yet.  Ralf |
