Re: Very short runtime for recent WUs?

Prepare for a duh moment: tasks with ...OPN-b_E...

First ...OPN-b_E... hand started and they are short too.

Re: Very short runtime for recent WUs?

We have switched from flexible to rigid dockings which run much quicker. The remainder of the current work will all be rigid dockings so this trend of short running work units will continue until the break waiting for more targets. See the announcement here: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=614577

Thanks,
armstrdj

*Edited to fix that remainder of work will be rigid dockings not flexible i.e. short running work units

Thanks for the update. Did you mean the rest of the work units will be rigid dockings, which are shorter?

Yes, thanks for catching this. I have corrected the post.

Thanks,

Re: Very short runtime for recent WUs?

The ...OPN-b_D... are shorties too. Racing towards E... I suppose 🙏. (It's always nice to effortlessly boost the result count 😚)

Same thought. I am getting a bunch of OPN-b_D_ that are short and some OPN-b_F_ are pending.

I was running a few days longer as normal. SCC even at a couple of hours was shorter than the others, and I am letting the shortened 2 day queue fill with those because I am going out of town for a few days the next couple of weekends and only the laptop is running. I was running short queues grabbing a few projects and then quickly changing to HST only hunting for HST but those are long running jobs. I will be glad to run these shorties for a couple of weeks at least, and might keep going while they are so tiny. It the project goes on vacation, I will have to change to something else, but it's nice to send over 1,000 results per day.

-B- were long ones, but anything after that has been very short, 5-10 minutes and a few as short as 1 min 30 sec. It's probably just some candidate molecules with only a few atoms. It will probably get past those some day in the next batch.

I am watching carefully for lack of work, but am currently running SCC only in 34 threads. Yesterday I submitted 5,279 results. This should help my overall result count a LOT.

Re: Very short runtime for recent WUs?

These WU's seem to have been getting increasingly brief - to the point where one WU this morning completed and uploaded in under 90 seconds.... blink and you miss it!!!
