In my experience with bottles, all the necks have been at the top. This is not to say that I view UHN as a bottleneck, but it may be a way to open the bottle. In trying to understand the organizational chart of UHN, it would seem that WCG is a pimple somewhere in the organization. However, I believe it is an important pimple, and I would not want our letters to be enough of an irritant for them to want to lance the boil.
Without WCG, some research within their organization cannot continue. WCG fits their overall mission. It would be better for UHN for them to put some command emphasis behind the project. It might be important to mention the global nature of WCG and the global reputation that might accrue in those letters that originate outside North America, particularly from researchers. Overall WCG fits better into the mission of UHN than it did into the mission of IBM. It is almost an in-house research tool, but in order to attract worldwide crunchers, there would have to be a variety of interesting projects to choose from. The address is: University Health Network R. Fraser Elliott Building, 1st Floor 190 Elizabeth St. Toronto, ON M5G 2C4 |
