@Cyclops,
1) Still no response to support emails. 2) Also, validator seemed to have gotten quite a bit of my completed WU's cleared out . But now, that number does not seem to be decrementing. 3) Is there a current listing visible to us, that shows what issues have been resolved, are in progress and which issues are listed but you folks have not yet had a chance to work on? 4) ETA on releasing of WU's for other projects? I have some other questions, but I'll pause for now. - ![]() |

No sign of any OPNG (Intel) here. Mike I am getting OPNG CPU tasks here, but not Nvidia GPU tasks here. I remembered that WCG tended to have work unit download issues when it released OPNG GPU or Africa Rainfall tasks. Perhaps WCG is waiting to ensure that its work unit download issues are fixed by the HDD to SSD upgrade before it tries to release GPU or Africa Rainfall work units again and possibly crushes WCG's download servers again. |

Quick clarification -- OPN1 are the CPU tasks, and OPNG are the GPU tasks. I'm getting both -- a bunch of OPN1, and a decent number of OPNG, across both Linux+Nvidia and Windows+AMD. Same here, I do get both OPN1 and OPNG tasks. It's easier to get OPN1 tasks, but that's always been the case.
----------------------------------------However, all validators seems to be on vacation, or working extremel slow. The list of tasks that should be validated (not waiting for a wingman, or doesn't have any wingman), is growing very large now. Same goes for tasks that should have been purged long time ago. I have tasks that were validated back in February, still waiting to be purged. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Apr 5, 2023 11:58:53 AM] |

I have tasks that were validated back in February, still waiting to be purged. My PV list has gone from about 7300 at this time yesterday, to about 12,000 now. And BOINC is actually showing that my RAC has dropped from about 91k to 88k, despite that this hardware mix I have should be good for about 10x that (and was, more or less, before the crash). At least the delay in purging WUs gives more time for them to validate ![]() ![]() |

Well, non validated WU's are not purged, but resent out to new wingmen after the initial wingman/wingmen have failed to return the task in time. At least resent out until they have reached the maximal number of resends.
----------------------------------------The ones not purged that I'm talking about was in many cases validated already as far back as in February. So they should have been purged a long long time ago. The problem with slow validation and delayed purging, existed long before the latest crash and burn of the WCG system. Once they do, all emails that were supposed to be sent out over the past week will be resent, 3) The Comprehensive Issue List is where you can find all of the issues that are on our radar or have been completed. We will try to have it updated with new issues soon. 4) Not yet, we will release updates when new WUs are ready to be posted. |

Great to see this back in action! I'm currently seeing OPNG/Nvidia work units on my main cruncher, as well, and that looks (based on my UPS power consumption graph) like it's been steady or very nearly so since yesterday afternoon.
I'm not seeing OPNG/AMD on my new machine that I had put together shortly before the outage. The client requests AMD work units, but never gets them. I'm not sure if that's because a) it's Fedora 37, b) some package isn't installed and needs to be, or c) there are so many AMD clients requesting work units that they're effectively scarce as hen's teeth. At any rate, it's a mini-desktop running a Ryzen 7/4700U with APU. The 4700U ought to be called a "Ryzen 6" since SMT is factory-disabled, but for a low-power laptop chip, those eight cores scream, and the system runs surprisingly cool and quiet with six of the eight cores crunching away. |

from Cyclops: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,442463) The Comprehensive Issue List is where you can find all of the issues that are on our radar or have been completed. We will try to have it updated with new issues soon. Figured I'd add a link to that thread after hunting for it. ![]() |

There is no maximumum number of re-sends. There is, however, a maximum number of errors! Last year and early this year we were getting high numbers of re-sends due to the number of no replies, which don't count against the number. Mike |
