Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

At least we were back for a while and the fora are working, but the the work units have dried up.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

I'm starting to see credit in my overview for the missing days. I'm not seeing any new WUs coming out yet, but I think they still have some catch up work to do before sending new WUs out.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

I'm getting a steady supply of resends, but no fresh WUs.

Check first post in thread to see October update. It sounds good!

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Thanks for the update Jake. My cache of SCC resends will run out soon and I'll be empty too. Hopefully they turn on the MCM flow soon. The October update they posted made it sound like we might get some ARP "soon" too.

Unixchick,
I found the October update a bit confusing in this respect. It says that the expectation is that “all simulations will be ready by the end of this year”. Read literally, I took this to mean that all ARP tasks will be finished by the end of the year, but that obviously isn’t going to happen. So perhaps it just means that the work units will be available to process by the end of the year? In which case, the simulations won’t be finished until well into 2024.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

That ARP run completion of the end of the year is absolutely impossible unless a supercomputer gets involved.

There are still 2 units stuck in generation 021 and 1 in 022, so they would have 163 generations to crunch in 75 days. They would need to get turned over validly every 11 hours for that to happen.

I have said many times that those 3 units should be continued while the storage issue was sorted out because their results could be stored on a USB drive.

Mike

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

If I were a WCG tech, I'd manually send out those superextreme 021 and 022 work units so they catch up with the rest of the group.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Looks like we are back to pretty much no WUs again. You might get lucky and get a resend, but we are all empty at this point.

I agree with you Mark, Mike and hchc. ARP should send out the handful of workunits really lagging behind. I'll say it again since we have been saying it a while, and it doesn't happen. Whatever the circumstances I just want to have ARP back.
