Re: I9–14900KF Cooling

Thanks William appreciate what you are saying and everybody else has said.

William since I am currently using four sticks of 16GB memory your reference to using DDR 5_A2 and DDR 5_B2 all 4 memory slots have been used. I have no idea which stick is in what slot as the machine was built for me.

Not sure if I will pursue the issue under warranty as I am not going to gain a lot & I have no idea how long I will be without a computer for which I need on a daily basis, also to me it will not achieve anything unless I buy another memory kit 2 sticks of 32 GB to get the optimal performance from the memory and CPU.

To clarify: Are you using 4 sticks (DIMMs) right now or two?

If you are using four, take out DDR5_A1 and DDR5_B1 (so only DDR5_A2 and DDR5_B2 are populated). The motherboard will be labeled next to each slot but I think the white colored slots are the slots to keep populated. See if the speed changes (it should). If it does not, then it might be a memory issue or MB compatibility issue. Can you choose from different XMP profiles in the BIOS?

Re: I9–14900KF Cooling

Currently there are 4 sticks installed.

On the 2nd line of the 2nd paragraph that you have quoted I wrote "as the machine was built for me" so I am not going to be removing any sticks of memory simply because I am physically not able to :-(. This is the reason why I am asking is it worth changing the memory to 2 sticks of 32GB?

Yes I am able to choose different XMP options however I choose not to experiment since if it doesn't work I require someone to restart my PC because it won't boot because of the memory speed or XMP profile selected.

I appreciate the feedback, however I am unable to physically make changes otherwise I would of gone ahead and made them :-)

Re: I9–14900KF Cooling

My final question is will I notice a marked/any improvement changing from 4 sticks down to 2 sticks keeping memory kit at 64 GB 6000 MT/s?
