I noticed that you are now in the TOP TEN of all WCG individual users in your total points! Pretty impressive, considering many of the users had a full year head start on you! Currently at #8 overall, and you will likely reach #7 very soon. I'll do my best to keep up with those stats, if you and those hampsters just keep up with the crunching power to keep the stats improving! Thankie... Thankie... and to think most of that was in the last 2 months! I'm hoping to put a few million points up before I have to start scaling things back. I hope I can keep making 4-5 million a month for the next 3 or maybe 4 months. ![]() -j |

But, you've reminded me. Gotta make sure my guys have backed up a few of our systems.... like our SQL DB. -j Yeah, as much as I hate it, veritas backup exec saved my butt! It's scary when six months of work comes down to what you can pull off one little 4mm DAT. I just don't have the warm fuzzy with SATA that I had with SCSI. I had five 300G drives in the array so my usable size was just over 1T - my first ![]() Fortunately, after a weekend of work, everything is back up and running on that machine except Boinc (it was one of my best crunchers). Today I will re-install and try overlaying the old files and see if it will pick up where it left off. |

one little 4mm DAT I've never been fond of 4mm DAT. I just don't have the warm fuzzy with SATA that I had with SCSI. Yeah... I hear ya. SATA isn't as fast (even with NCQ enabled on SATA-II), and it certainly isn't quite as reliable as SAS. It is cheaper... and people like cheaper. Components that work fine at home aren't quite the same as for an enterprise. Ya get what cha pay for. -j |

Today I will re-install and try overlaying the old files and see if it will pick up where it left off. Worked like a charm. Good thing since the two work units were around 70%-80% complete. |

In the last week or so, we have improved in some of the overall rankings:
#19 in total run time (same placement) ![]() #23 in total results (UP 1 place) ![]() #15 in total points (UP 3 places) ![]() We had a slow month, in that we only gained 6 new members this entire month, so we are now: #29 in total members, (same placement) ![]() Our daily totals are still hovering around the #10 position (with some days and some stats much higher!), so we should continue to see improvement in the rankings, although we seem to have fallen off in the "recruiting" ![]() I will be away for the next week, so will not be checking for new members and such for a while. But before I go, I wanted to recognize JMatthews, who has now moved up to #7 in the overall WCG individual statistics for total points generated, thereby putting him in the elite Top Ten of all invididual World Community Grid Members! Thanks for your efforts for the team, and to the WCG as a whole, J! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks like I'm about to catch BillinSobe for the #2 spot. Now, if I can just figure out how to catch J.
