where do "numbers" come from?

is there some unhappy SOB whose sole job it is to input data for us to crunch or does this data come directly from computers that doctors work with?
just wondering

That is a good question to ask the Olson Lab (Molecular Graphics Laboratory) at The Scripps Research Institute.

Re: where do "numbers" come from?

Hi Shinobi Gaiden

There is someone who feeds the machine with Molecules to test against the HIV Virus from a huge database of possibilities. This person then forwards on the results to the Scripps Institute. On the HPF project these results were forwarded on in batches which consisted of 10Gbytes of data

I'm sure this person is neither unhappy or a SOB wink

If I was lucky enough to be in his or her position I'm sure it must be a very satisfying if hugely responsible job.

The WCG Community salutes you whoever you may be peace

Dave
