is there a way for me to change my connection speed without reinstalling world community grid and i'm running world community grid with the boinc program and it seems that boinc isn't running because i'm running world community grid is there a way to fix that?

Hello qaz79,
I am not a BOINC expert. For those who are, could you include some more information? Such as, whether or not BOINC has ever run successfully on your computer? Why do you need to change connection speed? Since I know nothing about this, why not just change the connection speed and see what happens? Could somebody with experience chime in on this one? mycrofth |

boinc has run successfully until i downloaded wcg. i just want to know how to change my connection speed to see if it would speed up the wcg program.

Hi qaz79,
The WCG server uses the Secure Socket Layer protocol for encrypted communications. I think that was implemented in the BOINC 5.2.6 ?? release in November, so make sure that you have upgraded BOINC. Aside from downloading the application program, the work units are small, so connection speed should not matter much.
