Homebrewers Team Thread

I am starting a team thread for team Homebrewers to highlight a signature banner that our favorite graphic artist, Graham, has created for this team. Here is the image:

To use it, code {img]gahood.org/home.gif{/img] changing the "{" to "[" in both places.

Graham, as ever, a nice banner. I'm a little confused as to why the Homebrewers are not starting their own thread though confused

smile Hi Mate
I hope you are well
The Team Captain is a friend of Dave Bell and there was a bit of confusion with his first post
It got locked instead of being moved to the Team Forum
So Dave started it for him so I could post his banner at Dave's request

Ah, I see. I thought for a moment you were going to lose Dave - that team name must be mighty tempting wink

Aye, I'm fine, you?

Looking forward to catching up with family and old friends in a couple of weeks - we're driving down to Birmingham - braving the monster that is the M6 worried

VIAO --

You are right -- it is really tempting biggrin

I started the thread because of the mess the team captains first posts got in as Graham said. Hopefully, he will be back here to post. I mentioned it to him in a homebrewing forum where I first met him.

Re: Homebrewers Team Thread

Here I am, ... finally. Fell a bit behind in my emails. Yes, I am the team captain, and I _REALLY_ appreciate the assist that I've received from Dave, and the beautiful banner that his friend, Graham, prepared for our team. Thank you both.

I have already changed my signature file to incorporate it, and this post is my first test. If it doesn't work, I'll have to go back and find what I've done wrong.

Have been trying to promote my team on a bunch of brewing forums, but most folks seem suspicious of grid-computing. I thought that by now I'd have 50 or 60 members. Hopefully, as the public becomes more aware of grid computing, things will improve. Although this is fun, I don't really care about the team as much as the benefit to grid computing. As a matter of fact, I've posted a few posts on the Army Knowledge Online forums to encourge folks to join the Army team -- telling them how badly the US Air Force and US Navy is kicking our butt (I'm in the Army Reserves).

Anyway, thanks again.

Bill Velek

Re: Homebrewers Team Thread

Bill --

Glad to see you found the banner and have it all set up now. Don't worry about not having 60 or so members by now. Our team (MyOnlineTeam) currently has 234 members. A year ago, we were only about 7 or 8 strong, so it is a long process.

I am a bit surprised that a few more of our brother brewers haven't come over to join you, though. Think about it -- these are the same people that know what beer brewing looks like and, in spite of that, will look forward to drinking it! You would think that people brave enough to do that would not fear grid computing.

I always say that we owe a great debt of thanks to that first guy that looked at what would otherwise appear to be pond scum and said to himself, I think I'll drink some of that. Without his fearless efforts, we might never have discovered beer!
