Big V! Enjoy your hols. Your contribution, such as it is will be missed!  However, for those that have been following this thread closely, I have to pull you up on one thing.... Visions of you at Palma airport, with your hanky on your head and string vest, complete with large stuffed donkies under each arm, or reclining on a beach like Magaluf (sp?), enjoying your sangria & chip butties do little to envisage an image of one who consumes Creme Anglais rather than custard! Pot, meet kettle!  JonathanMurphy, your gift of humor (humour) has not been lost here.  And yes, Big V, do enjoy your Holidays in Palma. I do have one story to share when I was there ... well, maybe a long story. Maybe I will even post about it. |

---------------------------------------- Hi Adywebb Yeah. Big V is a lot like having the swallows around where I live. The swallows arrived again a couple weeks ago and will be here into the Fall. Now every day when you go outside you see them soaring in the sky. When you go down to the river and stand on the gravel bars, there they are, usually by the dozens, silently swooping by you like you were part of their world. Something about it just feels...nice...friendly. You know? Then one day in the Fall after being outside for a while you suddenly notice an emptiness, a ‘quiet’, the swallows are gone again.... That was very poetic. I'm sure big V will be moved by this. I think it only fair to point out that this side of the pond 'a flight of swallows' is an expression for, erm, an explosive evacuation of ones bowels into a china bowl.
