Plastic sounds unlikely. Anodised aluminium? The best ones are copper, but aluminium is common.

yes on a second look it apears to be the fan mount drops down both sides of the heatsink, its metalic after all.

but not quite usefull right now.

Hi ORAKK !
i have been experimenting with the CPU throttle. i have it set at 55% currently and it seems stable. it is pretty darn slow at this setting though, but with only one machine i want to be conservative. conservative is not my normal style, but i would cry if this machine died, and crying is not macho, so must be avoided.

Yes, ORAKK, a nitrogen cooler, would i need to wear gloves when i install that ? or is that the latest smirnof in a bottle ?

A bit of both maybe, but I do have an old 586 running in a bath of cooking oil at the moment. Running the oil through a distiller to keep the water out seems to do the trick. cool
