I decided to change my signature, but when I used this type of code it wouldn't work (imagine the parentheses are brackets):
(url=websiteuniformresourcelocator)(img)imageuniformresourcelocator(/img)(/url) The image refused to appear, yet its address appeared as a hyper-link to the web-site address. So, figuring you're now using hyper-text markup language (HTML) for signature-block data, I tried HTML and that didn't work either. No hint as to what manner of code actually works appears on the page where one creates a signature. Surely hyper-links involving images are not beyond the pale of this message-board software you're using! R.S.V.P. Thank you! ![]() =^..^= |

Is this a picture your trying to copy to your signature?
If it's an actual picture you have found online what you need to do is right click on the pictures and then scroll down to properties. Click on properties copy address url. It will look something like this: http://www.why-is-the-sky-blue.tv/images/why-are-sunsets-red.jpg ----- Then add the following to it to make it work: {img]http://www.why-is-the-sky-blue.tv/images/why-are-sunsets-red.jpg{/img] Change the following { to [ and it will show up. ![]() |

MisterCat,
Anything that works in a normal post should work in a signature. The forums don't support clickable images, so you will have to put your link separately. The easiest thing to do is create your signature in a new post (just preview it, you don't need to actually make the post). Then copy and paste the signature into your profile. This forum software has some major limitations :-S |

Didactylos, this is exactly what I wanted to confirm: "The forums don't support clickable images, so you will have to put your link separately." Thank you for this information. My problem, as it were, is now solved!
Thank you, Graham and largethunder, for your assistance in this matter. I'll be making a new signature shortly! ![]() =^..^= |

Just my 2 cents, but should you not be using [] instead of () brackets.....

Sekerob, the problem is, if you try and put valid BBCode in a post, it will get displayed as an image or whatever, not as code. So, to demonstrate code, we have to jump through a few hoops.
