Hello,
----------------------------------------i would like to you how people do for having a lot of point generated by results ? because, by result my pc work between 4 and 6 hours and it generats in average 250 points. But sometime, I found people who has a pc which work 16 hours by result (in average) and they generat 550 points (in average) by returned result. I want to how if it is possible to have a part a projet more complecated to calcul which will take more time for my computer ? I hope you can understand me :s Thank you for your help  |

If your pc works 4 hours and generates 250 points then you earn 62.5 points per hour. If your pc works 6 hours and generates 250 points then you earn 41.7 points per hour. A pc that works 16 hours and generates 550 points earns only 34.4 points per hour. I think it is better to earn 62.5 or 41.7 points per hour, yes?
Maybe your pc is faster therefore you finish in 6 hours instead of 16. Then you get another work unit and continue working. You do more work each hour so you receive more points each hour. |

You're welcome, Wilgard. One more idea...
Click on MyGrid -> MyProjects, there you see WCG has 2 projects: 1) FightAIDS@Home - long work units (WU), more points per WU 2) Human Proteome Folding - short WU, less points per WU Maybe you saw other people who work on project #1? Maybe you work on project #2? You can choose both projects or just 1 project. I think they give the same points per hour. |
