One of my computers running this new Phase 2, has been going for over 24 hours now and it shows job completion at 0% still. Whats wrong?

Sounds like one of those uncrunchable units that should have aborted itself after a few hours. Haven't seen one of those since early in phase 1.

Hello Klaasman,
Are you running the UD client or BOINC? Lawrence |

I think there's a problem with the status bar when running HPF2. Looks like it isn't updated on time.

One of my computers running this new Phase 2, has been going for over 24 hours now and it shows job completion at 0% still. Whats wrong? Nothing is wrong. It likely is just having a hard time converging a result. As long as the graph is progressing, the workunit is working fine. HPF2 is quite a bit different than HPF1. Each structure takes much longer to compute than in HPF1 as the analysis is much more detailed. Each HPF1 workunit computed a number of structures. This number ranged from roughly 40 to 150. Each time a structure was completed, a checkpoint was taken and the progress incremented. A structure may take many attempts to complete though. HPF2 works similarly except that each structure takes much longer to complete. Thus an HPF2 workunit may only compute a handful of structures, which is why people are seeing large percent jumps. However, HPF2 checkpoints after each attempted structure, not just when one is completed as in HPF1. HPF2 checkpoints every time the graphs complete (reach the end). There really is no way to indicate progress complete other than when a structure is completed. We have no way of knowing how many attempts each structure will take, thus the progress may sit there for a while. The graphs represent each attempt, so in a way, they indicate progress through a specific attempt.

It's time for one of these permanent 'sticky' threads that always sit at the top of a forum section or in member news, that contains instructions as to how to bring a problem to the forum having minimum data inclusion like the agent used, version, wu number. Time again the 1st reply to a new topic asks this question.....the C.A's and tech support are not clairevoyant!
----------------------------------------There's at the moment like 4 / 5 thread on the "paused agent" issue.....topic openers should search the forum just a little bit before kicking a new one off.....the "recent threads" menu option at top of the forum is in that respect an exellent entry point as it lists what's current and in which section its running.

Same story over here (WU za055_ 01358)
----------------------------------------
1.29 CPU hours reported for this WU. But the pc (P4 3.2) which it was crunching was already crunching it for over 24 hours. ![]() ![]() |

You people with 0% progress:
could you please click on your "graphic" area (the 'i' button) and let us know if you see the usual moving graphics in there? or is it just blank? according to the latest response i had, you should always be able to see your moving graphics even if you have 0% progress. if not, there might be a problem with the work unit. |

Now I run 15h ago and I see the proteine moving into the 'i' window. but no other figures into the score and progress bar windows.
I'll stop my system this night I'll hope to save my CPU time. If this a WU trouble how to clear this current WU and obtain a new one. |
