After reading other threads, went into the Task Manager and ended the process 'wcg_hpf2_rosetta.exe'. No probem with new FAAH task. Device ID 40119.

i hope what you had was 'no moving graphics'. it is still my understanding that if the graphics are moving, you should wait at least a day to see if there is any progress.

He said "51 hours" - that's more than enough when you're stuck at 0%. A new version of HPF2 has been released which should fix this problem.

I had the same problem with the "stuck" progress. Wish I had read here first. I uninstalled and reinstalled WCG. Although I used all the same settings, it registered the same box as a new device. (Just a comment, not changing the subject)
On the PROTEOME_FOLDING_PHASE_2 I notice now that it "appears" not to be progressing for a while (20-30min?), but then kicks in on the progress bar with what I would expect after that time, and progresses normally from there. If this is a result of the "fix", Thank You. |

I just checked one of my machines and it's been running for 80+ hours on a P2.6 machine and has been stuck at 5.6% for the last 27 hours. How long will it run before it terminates itself?

Hi robert1p,
I have not heard anything official about how long it can run, but there seems to be some bug in HPF2 that can run in an endless loop. ![]() Lawrence |

Hi GB003822,
There are 2 different ways. If you are running BOINC Manager, just select the work unit in the TASKS tab and click on Abort. If you are running the UD client, then right click at the bottom of your screen and select Task Manager. Scroll down the processes till you reach wcgrid_rosetta. . . . and then End it. Probably not a bad idea to reboot once you have downloaded a new work unit. At least, that is what I did as a precaution. Lawrence |
