rosetta.exe

Application Hijacking has been detected
The application: C:\Program Files\WorldCommunityGrid\ud_7816614.exe try to launch another application: C:\Program Files\WorldCommunityGrid\ud_7816614_0.dir\wcg_hpf2_rosetta.exe to go to remote host 224.0.0.2

is this part of the program or have I got a virus?

Re: rosetta.exe

Hello John Dunkley,
I have never seen that. What anti-virus are you running? You probably should scan for viruses anyway after Exiting the UD WCG client. Then reboot and see if anything happens.

Re: rosetta.exe

Very probably this is Firewall 'Code Injection' Detection.....One EXE, UD.EXE firing up the Science. Every time we get a new science and one was announced yesterday, you have to train your firewall and tell it to permit for "UD_7xxxxx.exe' to be allowed to start! In This case, i see ud_7816614.exe in your message, which is a new number.....expect this to come thru once the FAAH transmitting result now picks up a new HPF2.....stand by I'll know in 10 minutes, if i do get a HPF2.

Re: rosetta.exe

John Dunkley, launching that program is perfectly normal for WCG. As Sekerob says, a new version of the science application has been released, and your security software isn't familiar with it.

If no actual virus is detected, you should assume that everything is normal, since the detected behaviour is normal.

Re: rosetta.exe

Okay i did not get a new HPF2....a FAAH was alloted. You can though verify something else. From my recollection the last version of HPF2 i had was 5.0.5.03 or something....you should now have higher number in the 'i' screeen, right hand top. Also you may have noticed a larger than normal size download coming thru....that included the new science.exe.
