Thread: Only have Cancer work selected but still getting FAAH units |

Title of thread says it all. I'm wondering how I got a FAAH unit when I only have cancer work selected in the profile for this machine. I thought the agent would just get no work if the one project I had selected had no available work units?

Hello teletran,
Your post talks about the BOINC client, which does not allow projects to be selected on a device by device basis, unlike the UD client. Instead, it uses the projects selected in My Grid - My Projects. Are you sure that only HDC is selected? Lawrence |

I just looked you up in the system. For your My Projects which have been applied to your BOINC devices you have selected to receive work from FightAIDS@Home, Help Defeat Cancer and Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2. You can update this setting on this page: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProjects.do Please note that updating this page will set ALL of your profiles to these options. Your computer 'robert' is set to only receive work from the Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2 project. Right now we have suspended HPF2 (see http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=8062) so this computer will not receive work until we reactivate the project. You can update these settings here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/v...ation.do?profileId=245537 (This link will only work for teletran) Your computer 'wade' is set to only receive work from the Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2 and FightAIDS@Home. Thanks for the replies and I understand why I am getting FAAH units now. I do have diff projects for diff machines, as you listed, so in total the "my projects" has 3 selected. The confusion came in where I can actually set my "default" profile for the BOINC client in the same way that the UD client profiles can be set. In that screen I selected only cancer units, though apparantly that gets overridden by whatever is selected in "my projects". Thanks for the clarification and I'll get to fiddling with those settings based on HPF2 being halted.
