Hey I was just interested if anyone new the total computational power of the world community grid because I can't find it anywhere.

We've discussed it often, but we have no hard numbers. For previous discussions, just click on "Search".

Hello Sythem,
One measurement is the daily run time reported in Statistics. This URL converts it into the equivalent number of computers running 24 hours a day: http://vspx27.stanford.edu/DCcomparison.html Lawrence |

Sythem it's about 3Gflops per PC on average
----------------------------------------but there's between 3:1 or 5:1 redundancy built in on account of the research being medical and accuracy of results being paramount It used to be fairly easy to work out a rough guesstimate when we used just the UD agent but now with the BOINC/UD mix it's anybody's guess Raw power of about 120TFlops through the summer (in the northern hemisphere) is a reasonable guess ![]() |
