Re: Best cruncher in your fleet??

I have 2 dual core AMD A64's both running at 2.8GHz. They crank out about 10,000 points/day with BOINC.

My "baby": biggrin

Re: Best cruncher in your fleet??

Wow Gents......20 a day per machine or 40 the 2 or 10 per core. 10000 WCG points makes an average of 250 WCG points or 36 BOINC credits per WU. 40 equals at 99.5% efficiency on dual core, 2.4 hours/WU translating to a 15 credit award per hour! Very seriously impressed with these optimizations, but maybe my sums are wrong? Imagine, if u could run it in native 64bit, it would be supreme!

Per Boinc-stats Olympic does a RAC of 1375(9625 WCG) and ParoxysM 2843(19901 WCG) both u guys crunching for WCG only!

I've got nothing to brag about.....average presently 2.6 CPU hours per WU and only 8 credits per CPU hour on my P4 2.53ghz HT machine. straight face

Meantime, Keep crunching @ 20 WU's per machine a day.....that's really all that counts for the project.

ciao

PS: The tax man reads the adds in the papers too ;>)

Re: Best cruncher in your fleet??

For the past 2 days, 12 WU's per half day - I don't keep my machine on at night. It's brand new, and it's the only one I have crunching now, only because it's the cream of the crop, and because I want to burn it in.

I like to brag that it's faster than the FX-62 in majority of benchmarks at a fraction of the cost: Intel Conroe @ 3.2 Ghz (:

Come on, other single-pc conroe users, let me know I'm not alone here :p

Re: Best cruncher in your fleet??

I've since upgraded from a dual core AMD to a quad core Intel QX6700 running at 3.4GHz. It's set to receive all projects and according to the stats here on the site, it has run 105 days(converted to wall clock) and produced 4000 results, or an average of 38/day.

I should set it to crunch Genome Comparison WU's only, it can spit those out in 45 minutes...lol! biggrin

As soon as Apple releases the octo (twin quad), I'll be retiring my iMac and mini which are turning an average of 19 WU's and per day and 6000 points per day combined. Can't wait to unleash the beast.

Re: Best cruncher in your fleet??

I bet u if you turn it over, it will double up as a kitchen stove.... you need a heat pump and store the energy for the winter season.

My 'Best' is 33 validated WU's in a day on the C2D.... got 25 in PV presently, so it's not loitering, though hibernated most of the times for the night time.
