Wow! Nice end to a very nice month! Nice milestone parmesian! Welcome back to Saku1303! Glad to see you crunching with us again. Hope your time away was good! Looking at the monthly numbers, you can see we had a lot of team members hitting a lot of milestones. Well done everyone

Not a bad goal if you ask me. That leaves one last thing for me - to see how much sleet and ice we get here tonight ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by keithhenry at Feb 1, 2007 2:21:08 AM] |

According to one of my BOINC stats:
----------------------------------------Of the current users crunching for MoT, 39 of us are doing so using the BOINC client rather than the WCG client. Of all the teams crunching via BOINC, we're ranked 14th. 3,846,708 points have been contributed by those crunching with BOINC. That's just 2.6% of our total that has been submitted by users running BOINC. If you're not already doing so, please try to run your units from within the BOINC client. If you're stuck as to how, just post and Kieth, myself or a Community adviser will assist you ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by spikey_richie at Feb 1, 2007 7:52:48 AM] |

Another respectable day - we're 1.75 years from 600 years of runtime. For anyone who notices and wonders, it would appear that MLCBA changed his username to Fermez_WCG. I believe the literal translation is "close the WCG". parmesian should hit five million points over the weekend I'd say. CompuDude looks to be about 8-9 days from assuming the number one spot on the team. Mike OSullivan looks to hit 500,000 on Sunday or Monday. More good milestone today as well.

My 2nd in command crunching rig is toast, the mobo decided to smoke a transistor, and it's not an off-the-shelf motherboard; custom fit.
----------------------------------------So my points will now NOT be taking a jump in the next few days, it's more likely to be a few weeks ![]() |

For anyone who notices and wonders, it would appear that MLCBA changed his username to Fermez_WCG. I believe the literal translation is "close the WCG". ![]() You are right KH. Fermez_WCG means close WCG. The idea is to get the last few PCs not under my direct control disconnected from WCG. Now why? You probably ask. Well, WCG is an American base organization. And the great USA is under the control of George W. Bush. This worries me a great deal. Because that fool can force any companies or organization to do what ever he wants under the “Home Land Security Act”. So that means that we could in fact be crunching decrypting software for the US government. Spying on individuals or even worst crunching for “A” bomb simulations or any other bizarre scam he can dream of. Me paranoid! No just completely untrusting of the worst ally anyone can have. It is simple to deal with an upfront enemy, but with allies like the USA who needs an enemy? I am not saying Americans can’t be trusted but rather that the American government can’t. He (Bush) was not re-elected by the majority so I say that the majority of Americans is not responsible for Bush being there. Further more if all the crunching does go toward sciences. Then only American companies will benefit from it, making billions from your collective computation. Yes but this will save lives! You will reply. Sure, but who’s life. Some poor Africans no, surely not Cubans, that leaves mostly Americans and some of their perceived (today) real allies.
9PM! Do you know what your PC is crunching?

Well, first off, regardless of your reasons, we are going to miss you crunching with us. However, I fully respect your decision. You most certainly have the right to choose what work will be done on your machines.
----------------------------------------Facts can normally be tested for valdity. The opinions and beliefs we form based of those facts are determined by how we percieve those facts. I may not hold the some of the same opinions as you but mine are no better nor no more correct than yours. Those who peruse my website link below will find that I don't particularly care for politicans myself. While I did vote for Bush, I also voted for the sexual predator that preceeded him too. Certainly at the national level, and to a lesser extent at the state level, how I vote is as much who I'm voting against as who I'm voting for. Typically with at best two choices that are viable, neither one tends to be very appealing. In fact, at the national level, if I support one party's candidate for President, I tend to support the other party's candidates for Congress. The thought there is to do what I can to promote gridlock at the national level. If something does get done, it usually really needs to be done bad enough that Washington can't play politics with it. It's my way of trying to do damage control. What I'd REALLY like is a NOTA (None Of The Above) option when voting. If Diogenes had to do his search in Washington, he'd commit suicide. I'm proud of this country and its people but I'd love to see public servants and AMERICANS in the White House and Congress. I've had enough of politicans, Democrats and Republicans. That's the thing about getting old, you learn to say what you think and not worry about what others may think unlike when you're younger ![]() No, I don't hold your view towards the WCG but again, you have every right to your opinion and I respect that. You'll always be welcome back here. |
