Inconclusives on most recent FAAH beta tests

As per an announcement by knreed, the new points system has been implemented for all projects.
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=9545

But I am still seeing results listed as Inconclusive from the Beta testing. Was a change made to the validation after the Beta testing? Can any such change be applied retroactively to the Beta results?

Re: Inconclusives on most recent FAAH beta tests

Bobcat,

Eventually your 'Inconclusive' will convert to 'Valid' or Invalid depending how things work out at the time when additional copies come back for validation. If its decided to not send out additional copies, the Inconclusives will be converted to either of the 2 final states depending on the majority agreeing and accordingly points awarded. Patience is required until the Beta is deemed completed.

cheers

Re: Inconclusives on most recent FAAH beta tests

The FightAIDS@Home beta test is still suspended. As a result some of the Inconclusive results will remain that way for awhile until we can release another version. We that version in development right now and hope to resume the beta shortly.

As you may notice - you might see some results in a 'Waiting to be sent out' state. That is due to us not letting any more work be sent out for the FightAIDS@Home beta until the new version is available.

Thanks to both of you for the info. I see the "waiting to be sent" has now changed to "In progress".

Yes BobCat13, we're on the move again.

knreed, just notice that HDC 5.14 went into production, thus assume the HDC part of the Beta run was concluded.

You need to put notify folk as Firewalls are going to spring up again, and Threadmaster users will have to add another line in their application parms.

cheers

Re: Inconclusives on most recent FAAH beta tests

The inconclusives on my AMD have now turned to invalid.
Should I look for a problem my end or is it an irregularity in the work sent out?.

Re: Inconclusives on most recent FAAH beta tests

I don't think you can draw any conclusions from work units that were partly crunched with the old beta version. It simply means that the final quorum member agreed with the other results, not with yours.

Wait until fresh work units are crunched. Then we will know it's working properly.

Don't know, but in the past it came accidentally, that supplemental WU's were send with a new software version, thus causing slight variation in the quorum and throwing invalids. Cant see a way in the Result Status pages to reveal that, if the case.

Fortunately it's beta.... manure happens ;>)

If these were FAAH BETA work units, then I would not worry about something on your machine at the moment. Please check to make sure that the BETA version of the application was not the latest version for the work units that are labeled invalid.

Re: Inconclusives on most recent FAAH beta tests

Yes the invalid results are in the Beta. The one which was paused due to AMD/Intel compatibility problems.
This is my first Beta test and as my 'invalid' results incurred a point penalty, the inference was that my machine had failed in some way and the work should have been completed differently. If this is the case then I need to find out why it failed.
The machine in question is very heavily loaded with many background and foreground tasks which could potentially 'break' the application. That's my understanding of beta testing. Break it and then find out why.
Not nit-picking, just trying to find my way.
